Consciously Evolving
This is a very exciting area that will grow with the site from an earthSOS point of view. We believe it is of utmost importance that the human species recognizes itself as equally important as all life on earth but at the same time recognizing that we also have extra responsibilities as a result of our intellectual capabilities.
Once a species can recognize the fact that it is an evolving species then it is at that point that it can start consciously evolving. Or rather, a species that has the ability to see its evolution and can identify the evolution of other species and how they affect each other, can try and co-create to nurture life.
We understand that there is a lot of philosophy that can go into this topic. Things like the nature of the species, whether or not life is all part of a master plan, or is there free will and choice? Maybe it is a mix of the two? We are going under the assumption here, for the Consciously Evolving section, that free will and choice are very important because even if it is meant to be a certain way, failing to act out "that way" will result in life being rejected. Or you could say that even though your path might be chosen you still need to hold on to it or grab it when you need to, or you have simply given up and you die.
We like that there are many possible explanations and beliefs we want to explore, but it seems apparent that within all belief systems, quality interaction between societal members is necessary to enhance the ability for one's genes to be passed on to future generations. So we need to live as individual beings and believe in free will to create individual accountability to develop the basis to interact harmoniously in a community. It is in our genes to do so, to act in accordance with life to allow for our genes to be passed on. Without individual accountability there is a far lesser chance for the species to survive. And life wants to live on.
So given these great assumptions about the nature of life and intelligent life, this section is dedicated to those things that relate to the idea of the human species recognizing itself as evolving and what we can do to contribute to our own evolution. Our species also has the ability to recognize the state of the world, as we understand it, and our place as a species on the world and the impacts that we might have on other species. Never before has a species been able to influence its environment to the extent that our species can and with that understanding comes accountability. Life promotes life. Maintain the diversity of Life.
Things like great links to other sites on or near the same topic will be in here. Suggested readings like Barbara Marx Hubbard's "Conscious Evolution: Awakening the Power of the Social Potential" will be in this section. There are many organizations around the world that support the idea of the human species continuing to evolve and promote events and programs that do the same - those organizations will be found in here. Articles, essays, anything and everything we find. One thing that Barbara supports in her book is the positive news: why don't we have news of the good things that are going on more? Why does there seem to be a desire to witness what would be considered harsh or violent events?
We will look at things like religion and how the world's religions are different from one another, as well as their similarities. Attempting to create awareness in the effort to further understanding. Things that promote the idea of the effort involved with taking responsibility as an entity participating in our environment consciously, as to not hurt it or damage the diversified life that allows for our species to live. It is surprising the amount amenities we have in our life that can be replaced with alternatives that are more environmentally friendly while being just as good quality, and maybe even better.
We welcome input in any area you think falls under this category, in any form, such statistics, articles, websites, suggested books, etc. Some ideas we have thought of that fall under this category are: the growing population, diversification of life, organizations supporting community sustainability or helping the community through sponsoring programs, government run programs, new teaching styles or education system designs, institutes or schools that offer programs for people to check out, and community networking idea's.
We believe that this could be a very powerful resource one day. |
