This category is dedicated to any action that can be taken to lesson one's daily consumption or can also be said to reduce people's daily footprint on the earth. This can be done by changing a daily routine or habit, changing something physical in a residence, or even just suggesting an action to your employer.
Individual responsibility is a central part of reducing one's consumption in all the communities we are each a part of. It has always been the members of a community that set the standards for responsibility by passing on this knowledge to new generations. In today's system though it is becoming increasingly harder for us to know what is expected of us as responsible members of society.
In Eco-Friendly we will endeavour to illustrate what can be done and how each of us as individuals can help bring this to reality. We have broken the category up in to sub-sections to assist you with your search for specific information. As always if you have any information that you think might be of use, please go to the Contribution Section and send it to us, it just might be the piece we need to get a new section launched.
Our Eco-Friendly Sections
Here are the sections and topics we have chosen to include thus far into our eco-friendly category.
To live sustainably is a way of being. To make the extra effort to car pool, seek out hemp clothing, use less water, recycle as much as possible. But just like everything new, it becomes very easy and eventually habitual so that it takes no effort at all.
We have all heard it before: the three R's reduce, reuse and recycle. This is not just a catchphrase; these are ways each of us can contribute to lessening our devastating impact on our environment.
Gardening can be rewarding in many ways and one of them is the fact that you have not only prepared the food you are about to eat but grown it as well - a very pleasing feeling. Another great thing about it is the taste. Considering the fact that we do have to eat everyday, we should make sure that what we eat is both healthy and tastes good, and truly fresh vegetables are delicious.
The main ideas that we will be launching with in Household are appliances, lighting, Power smart, cleaning materials, and general things that can be done around the house to consume less and treat the environment and ourselves better.
The main ideas that we will be launching with in Workspace are office supplies, space orientation and general things that can be done around the office to consume less and treat the environment and ourselves better.
Though they may cost a bit more at retail price, hybrid vehicles are a worthwhile investment, as they are definitely a step in the right direction, in terms of slowing our effects on our environment.
This section deals with any kind of automobile that falls under the category of LEV, Low Emission Vehicle. We do have a section dedicated to Hybrid cars so this area will deal with any new design of gasoline powered LEV or electric car.
